Rihlah Collective is a space for Muslim professionals growing in faith, character, and meaningful contribution.
A lot of people lament their professional life simply as a "rat race" that never ends, ripped from enjoyment and meaning, only to "survive" and fulfill their needs. Some complain that their jobs distance them from their family. Others still question whether women, in Islam, are legally allowed to work. And, for most muslims, we seem to see that work is not part of 'ibadah or, even worse, something that prevents us from doing it. In the end, we all ask the same question: "What does working actually mean?"
Now, as Muslims, we try to answer that question by asking, "Does Islam have a different view on working and provide solutions to this problem?" In this Rihlah Special Lecture, we aim to answer this question and provide clarity on our professional lives in light of Islamic teachings. Our speaker, Dr. Rizky Febrian, has an online program called "Rediscovering the Right Livelihood: Makna-makna yang Hilang," and this special lecture will be the introduction to the topics that will be discussed there. This special lecture will give the participants an opportunity to listen to the lecture, followed by an engaging discussion with Dr. Rizky.
