Where do you truly belong when borders blur and everything shifts?
in (between) movement investigates the shifting notion of belonging as both a physical and a metaphysical space. The choice of format reflects the layered nature of this theme, where the dancer reacts to the sonic and visual environment in an improvisatory manner, allowing the performance to remain fluid and responsive. This openness mirrors the instability and transformation inherent in the concept of belonging and migration.
Can a body on stage capture this restless rhythm where home is neither here nor there? By bringing body, sound, and visual into dialogue, the work highlights the tension between inner states and external conditions, reflecting the layered, unstable experience of migration while leaving space for constant negotiation and transformation. It presents an immersive dialogue of movement, sound, and visuals that questions fixed perceptions of home.
As an extra highlight, experience "Body Switch", a work-in-progress performance exploring migration, identity, and hybrid bodies through movement and sound. Created by twenty participants from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia during an intensive workshop facilitated by Ruben Reniers, this presentation offers a fresh look at how migration translates into physical expression and integrated musical composition. Audiences and practitioners are warmly invited to witness the results, engage in open dialogue, and exchange creative ideas together.
